From March 2007 on visitors to the town of Gabrovo and the House of Humour and Satire who are willing to become part of the inimitable Gabrovo carnival and to take back home a precious memento can do that jumping into either of the costumes and having a photograph taken on the backdrop of the enchanting exhibition room 8 "Long Live the Carnival". The costumes are kindly provided by the chief scenario-man of the Gabrovo carnival Mr. Slavi Bonev while the Long Live the Carnival exhibtion is an incontestable evidenece of the undying carnival traditions all over the world.





Should you decide to take a piece of Gabrovo humour away with you, don't pass by the


SOUVENIR SHOP. This is the one and only place where you can find unique Gabrovo souvenirs (1/2 coffee-cups, utensils for unwelcomed guests, Gabrovo beer mugs, clocks that work counter-clockwise, white and black statues of cats, cups for reading one's future, Forget-it ash-trays, cups for moustached men, tapped eggs, etc.), as well as a variety of HHS publications. Only here can tourists buy the latest publication of GABROVO HUMOUR - ANECDOTES AND JOKES ABOUT GABROVIANS in 5 languages and an apron with Gabrovo recipes to survive an economic crisis.


CONFERENCE HALL

The insiders have dubbed it the Giraffes' Hall, but in fact, it is a multifunctional space designed for carrying out diverse activities - from political meetings and discussions to literary readings and presentations of new authors and books, children's festivities, seminars and workshops for NGOs, etc. The conference hall can seat 100 people, and is equipped with a video-screen and modern audio-and-video facilities. The hall can be hired out on request.

HHSStudio offers production of complete musical products; mixing and processing of ready audio-recordings; interior and exterior sounding; audio-and-video recording of press-conferences, seminars, workshops, etc. The audio-and-video collection of the HHSStudio houses noteworthy interviews and artistic portraits of outstanding creators of humour, as well as recordings of all public events of the House of Humour and Satire.

LIDER Restaurant

Open every day from 7:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m., the restaurant offers Bulgarian cuisine dishes, salads, fast-made dishes, mature drinks, etc. Live Bulgarian folk music and a DJ cater for the high spirits of the visitors. Frescos after Gabrovo anecdotes painted by Bulgarian artists Boris Dimovski decorate the restaurant ceiling.

THE WONDERS OF GABROVO THRIFT
A thematic guided tour of the central part of Gabrovo

Starting point: Museum HOUSE OF HUMOUR AND SATIRE and the Park of Laughter

Route to be followed:

- Monument to Racho the Blacksmith in the River Yantra
- Bridges spanning the river decorated with thematic sculpture compositions
- Aprilov-Palauzov Community Centre
- Two clock-towers on the main square
- Monument to Chardafon the Great
- Two side-by-side bridges over the river
- Along the course of the carnival procession in the central part of the town: Vazrazhdane square, Regional Library, House of Culture, Aprilov High School and the National Museum of Education, Regional History Museum, the Church of the Assumption of Our Lady, the St. Petka of Gabrovo Chapel, Dechkov House, the Holy Trinity Cathedral , the Old Clock-tower, Mai 1st. 1876 square.

Visitors will learn interesting details about the aforementioned Gabrovo sights and buildings along the route of the carnival procession.
